How Recruiters Can Use Blogging to Build Credibility Authority
How Recruiters Can Use Blogging to Build Credibility Authority So, people have mentioned that you should write a blog. You think you should too, but where to start? What would you write about? Will anyone read it anyway? And what about all the time it takes? You are busy, right? Where will you find the extra time? The list can go on and on. All the excuses under the sun. They are real excuses, but they are excuses none-the-less. With the right help, learning to blog can be easy and fun, the time taken can be minimal and the benefits can be amazing. We all know that there are some excellent benefits from SEO perspective of blogging and how just how much the search engines love new content on our websites, but for many producing that content feels like itâs easier said than done. I talk a lot about using blogging as a part of a recruitment companyâs overall business development and marketing strategy. I am a real fan of blogs and blogging and read a lot of blog posts, especially with the help of some very good reader apps. Itâs a great way to keep up to date with developments in all sorts of industries, stay in touch with changes and rumours in technology and gadgets, stay professionally up to date and keep amused at the same time. Developing a blog, sharing your knowledge and insights, is a natural step to building credibility and authority within an industry. It is also becoming more and more recognised by business generally as a way to learn more about you. More about your thoughts, and more about your interests too. Iâm often asked, as someone who has been blogging for years now, what the real benefits are, and what people can expect to achieve if they blog, and blog well. So, here are my 5 top benefits of business blogging: 1. Build authority in the market Blogging is a great way to show the world what you know, and think about your market and subject area. Itâs all well and good to know what you know, but you need to get it out there, and let others to see you as knowing it too. Blogging is a great way to do this, especially if you can get others to share your blog posts, or guest on otherâs sites. There is no doubt that when someone we trust shares content, the step up in authority is great. 2. Humanise you and your business The web is a big place, and as nice as your website maybe, you need to help others to see the real you. Blogging help with this massively as it allows you to speak with your prospective audience and clients in a very normal way. You can speak with them. Show them the real you. People buy people after all. Let them see the person behind the brand through your witting and your thoughts. 3. Drive traffic to your website Blogging does an number of important things for web traffic. Not least of these is the benefit of keeping the content on your site changing and up to date (something the search engines loves) but it also produces more and more indexed pages for your site which in turn help drive traffic through organic search. Blogging also helps you get discovered via social media sharing. Every time you write a piece online and share it, you are producing content that others can share too. Using Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn etc exposes you and your business to so many new people who donât know you yet. This sharing also keeps your social media profile active and growing. You donât have time to âdoâ social media â" well, you do now! 4. Turn the right readers into marketable contacts Adding âcalls to actionâ and links to your website within your blog not only attracts people to read more about you, but also gives you the opportunity to sign up for more content from you in exchange for their content details. eBooks, newsletters, free information sheets, free webinars, trial products etc are all things that people will happily give you their details for. This helps you build your list of marketable contacts, but also helps you understand the kind of things they might be interested in and how to start a conversation with them. In the main only people with a genuine interest in what you do and the services you provide will click through, providing an natural filter to help in your marketing efforts. 5. Develop long term relationships We all know how important it is to keep in touch with our clients and business contacts, and blogging is a great way to help do this. Sharing interesting and useful content with those we already know helps keep up front of mind with them, provides a helpful touch point, and often gives a great starting point for conversation. It is so nice when people walk up to me at networking or social events and mention a blog post of video blog they have just read or seen, and it happens all the time. Oh, and that newsletter content you are struggling to find â" why not repurpose the great work you have already done in your blog posts? Anxiety entails wakefulness, hypervigilance, agitation, and sometimes even has features of paranoia. When you have too much anxiety, you may even need panic attack management. When you are starting a new career, you want to be at your optimum best so you can put your best foot forward and give out a stellar performance that will make your superiors and colleagues trust you and make them happy with their choice that they got you on board. However, you canât fulfill your goals if you are burdened with too much anxiety. Find out how you can start a new career with good vibes and positive energy. The following are just some ways to help with anxiety when starting a new career: Exercise Often When you are just starting a new career, you will be on a learning curve to become adept at new skills and brand-new protocols. You are also basically entering the room a stranger and are not yet friendly with your colleagues. You need to be positive with each new day at the job, and this means having increased energy and confidence. You have to stay physically active because it has good benefits not only with your physical health, but also with your mental state. You use both your body and mind at work, so exercise can help you stay energetic and focused. Exercise encourages the release of endorphins, which are chemicals needed by the brain to promote well-being, tranquility, and peace. You donât have to be over-involved with physical activity such as signing up for a gym if you donât have the time. Physical activity can be anything as simple as walking to work or dancing in front of your mirror to your favorite tunes first thing in the morning. Aside from working out before you get to work, you can also be more active in your workplace. You can take a few breaks if you have been sitting on your chair long enough and simply walk around. You can also opt to use the stairs instead of the elevator when going up and down your building. You can also do some exercise squats every now and then Making your body fit makes you fit for work as well, and can help you deal with stress, such as dealing with deadlines and challenging work. Get Therapy It is okay to have overwhelming feelings of anxiety as long as you communicate how you feel. When you are dealing with a stressful job, it is best to approach a professional therapist or career coach that can help you work through your feelings. Being a new employee, you may be apprehensive of expressing your feelings, but you can gain a lot by getting professional help so you can get valuable insight into your problem. If you have any grievances or overwhelming stresses and feelings, it is best to bring them to the attention of your companyâs HR therapist so the necessary adjustments can be made to your workplace by your boss and co-workers, thus allowing you to have a more positive experience in the workplace. Donât Involve Yourself With Drama In The Workplace There are many challenges in a new job as is. For example, you have to undergo training and learn new systems to be effective in your work. Starting a new career can even be more challenging if you have to involve yourself with a lot of unnecessary drama. Avoid it at all costs. Nowadays, it is a whole lot easier for people to prey on others because of social media and the internet. People can attack each other under the shroud of anonymity. Work can already be stressful because of the mental challenge you have to find solutions for and work on. You cannot add emotional stress to this if you choose to be involved with colleagues or peers who are bringing drama to your doorstep. It is best to avoid conflict and just focus on your job and maintain a positive attitude. It is more important to get the job done than having relationships with others on the job that may bring in potential drama. Keep your relationships friendly and professional, and you may never have to deal with drama. Manage Your Time You should manage your time wisely. Have time for other activities such as being with friends and family. Have time to pamper yourself, such as scheduling a time for yoga or a spa session. Have time for your passions and hobbies. If you donât do these activities, you may burn out easily. Have varied activities, so you will feel more fulfilled and not constrained to your work. Manage your time well so you wonât feel stuck in a monotonous job, and so you can make time for more fun-filled activities. Final Thoughts Getting a new career is an exciting prospect. Not only will you be earning well, but you will also be advancing in a career you love and earning credentials which you can use in the future. However, you should address feelings of anxiety as it may interfere with your work. The sooner you resolve your anxiety, the sooner you will look forward to work as a place where you can let your positivity and talents shine.
